"While celebrating the beauty of Mbirikani Group Ranch as pictured here, it is important to note that the lion images included in this gallery are not from this area, with one exception.  The pride of seven resting on the savannah, the last great pride of Mbirikani,  were all poisoned to death one day in early 2003 -- prior to the introduction of PCF -- because one man lost one cow to these lions.  The lion pictures are included in the hope they will inspire artists and potential donors to provide their assistance to ODWT."
